That's a VERY GOOD point Hellbringer me old mate (cool user name as well)! Anyone could start spamming the Comment section of articles with a little programming knowledge and start sending PM's automatically.
Even when you're logging in I'm sure the webpage you're using isn't even secure (no HTTPS prefix for the page). I'm gonna tell N4G this and hopefully they'll sort it out to pre-empt the the spammers before they try and take over ...
Yeah network reasons seem the most logical cause as people who commented on the Joystiq article also talked about similar problems with other games.
Hopefully Epic will sort this out soon and the gamers will be able to get back to their gaming. I haven't got the new maps but I might have to go and check if regular multiplayer is working OK or not ...
Maybe with all the publicity about the eBay and E-mail scams from Nigeria this enterprising young individual thought he'd go for the less well known N4G site and target us "poor, ignorant" users.
Fat chance though, I've already told him to "F**k Off", most of us N4G users are a clever bunch and I'm sure most people (unless they're young kids or something) will be able to see past this dodgy attempt at entrepreneurship!
Yeah it is funny, the things people do for money hey!
I can see what you're saying sajj mate, I've got a Wii myself and it was an outstanding bit of family fun over Christmas, especially for the non-gaming members of my family like grandparents and girl cousins. Wii Play and Wii Sports were perfectly designed for the Wiimote and really made non-gamers pick up the gameplay in a very intuitive way.
But with the exception of Zelda, I just haven't used my Wii that much lately; it's just lacking games. Everytime I read a review of a ne...
Wow, (pardon the pun!) do those gamers who are proper WoW fanatics need another excuse to intice them to play for longer? I think for the most hardcore having a credit card based on the game may be one step too far for their minds to handle and for their skills in being able to differentiate from real and virtual worlds.
Hopefully the most desperate fans won't rack up huge credit card bills just so they can play more of the game. Still, from a business point of view Blizzard ha...
Agree, Microsoft have always been a software company so it was always weird that Sony were the ones with the developer and publisher advantage in Europe. Now Microsoft are re-addressing the balance and hopefully with some "local" (well a couple of hours plane journey in Europe anyway) Microsoft Game Studios staff on hand to help and advise we should see an increase in quality and quantity of games in the future for the 360.
Wow, after Google stole Microsoft's thunder over the last few years, they've tried various things to try and get ahead in the web industry. But this is one strategy that might actually make a considerable difference. Yahoo is a pretty damn popular site, it used to be my home page for years and they have recently given it a good makeover. I'd be very interested to see what the two of them together could come up with.
Whether you like Microsoft or not, you should all be happy tha...
But wasn't there that news recently that a group of people were trying to get DirectX 10 to work on non-Vista systems?
That'd be pretty cool, if it's possible (albeit will require quite a bit of programming work no doubt) then obviously people would be wondering why Microsoft made it Vista exclusive.
Money talks though, that's the goal at the end of the day for all commercial companies, no matter how they spin it or give false reasons, making a profit is what it'...
It's always worth paying extra for something which is unique, especially when it's portrayed as being a one off.
But that $610 is a lot of money (although only £305 for us Brits!) and if you spent that much on something you'd probably be paranoid you'd scratch it or something or drop it. So you'd just bring it out for special cases to show off to your friends (or random Zelda fans waiting for a bus). Still, glad the money's going to charity, so can't really complain about ...
Yeah, I see what you're saying mate. But what I really meant to say was that with the fad over the last few years for all things healthy and natural and the world now going mad over global warming, Nintendo could have tapped into the lucrative new market for all things healthy.
A lot of these healthy fanatics are adults as well, which is just the kind of new audience they're aiming their consoles at. Whereas kids would buy Nintendo products just as easily without the Coke promo...
Ha, that link says it all Inasid. I'm all for people eating and drinking what they want, moderation's the real key after all. But when you've got that kind of promotion it's just gonna lead the temptation to take in excess, unhealthy amounts of Coca Cola drinks and products.
I can imagine kids being the ones who are likely to come off the worst through this, although if they play on the Wii enough, who knows, that exercise might burn off those extra calories and there might end...
I do it find it funny that with all the exercise orientated gaming inherent on the Wii and how it's always potrayed as a "healthy" game system thanks to the physical exercise required by many games, that Nitendo have gone and teamed up with a soft drinks manufacturer!
Surely, a product like Innocent Smoothies or some other healthy drink, would have made more sense and further implanted the idea that gaming doesn't necessarily have to be unhealthy and participated in a...
Lads, read the article more closely and you'll see that your reactions are slightly over the top me thinks! :p
They say it's failing RELATIVE to what the shareholders were expecting after the massive success of the PS2. This article is all about the shareholders and how they care less how it performs against the 360 and more how it performs against the previous PlayStation products.
Cheers :)
Yeah the contributor was only copying the original source title, but sometimes you have to exercise your own judgement such as when people copy over titles in CAPITALS or with exclamation marks.
Just cos the original title has it, doesn't mean it's necessarily appropriate, we were all given common sense!
P.S. Thanks to all the people who took away my bubbles in my earlier post above. You lot do realise there's a DISAGREE button you could have just clicked right?...
It's alright mate, everyone's entitled to make mistakes! :)
There's so many stories posted every day, it's hard to keep track sometimes. You can go to "My News" find your story and click on "Delete" to get rid of it.
Cheers :p
The title should be something along the lines of:
"PS3 Elite not far away"
"PS3X not far away"
"Updated PS3 not far away"
"New PS3 SKU not far away"
Putting "PS4" in the title is just a way of garnering attention and it's worked, although in fairness the original article was actually to blame as that's the title that SmartHouse.com used themselves. It's already on 160 degrees after being publi...
ANDRONIX:
There are independents around, they're just hard to find! I've got one in my town, but it's so out of the way loads of people don't even know it's there. It's a pity cos it offers a far more personalised service than GAME ever could, with people who are actually passionate and know what they're talking about.
They even happily give you discounts if you buy a half decent amount of stuff. Bought hundreds of pounds worth of consoles at GAME (for gifts) an...
GAME is already renowned in the UK for charging high prices and selling pre-owned games at massive mark ups. Normally the pre-owned price is only a couple of pounds less than the new version yet they hardly pay you anything for it. Worst of all is when the pre-owned price is HIGHER than the new price!
At least with Gamestation being another big high street gaming brand, we had some competition. But now it looks like GAME are gonna be literally competing with themselves, which m...
That is SERIOUSLY amazing.
I bet this guy gets a lot of female action ... (!)
